Roberta Flack, Singer of 'Killing Me Softly With His Song,’ Dead at 88
Grammy-winning singer Roberta Flack, whose cover of ‘Killing Me Softly with His Song’ topped the charts, has died at the age of 88
While a cause of death has yet to be revealed, a representative announced in November 2022 that Flack had ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, and could no longer sing. According to the Mayo Clinic, ALS often begins with muscle twitching and weakness in an arm or leg, trouble swallowing or slurred speech. The Grammy Awards are known as “music’s biggest night,” but the Recording Academy also hands out a ton of trophies in non-musical categories — and you might be surprised to find out who’s won them.
