Robert Pattinson’s ‘Mickey 17’ Bests ‘Bridget Jones’ at U.K, Ireland Box Office, ‘Marching Powder’ Debuts in Third

Warner Bros.’ 'Mickey 17' claimed the top spot at the U.K. and Ireland box office in its opening weekend with $2.7 million.

The sci-fi thriller from director Bong Joon Ho, starring Robert Pattinson, made a solid debut, though it faced strong competition from holdover hit “ Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy.” Universal’s “Black Bag,” directed by Steven Soderbergh, features an all-star cast including Cate Blanchett, Michael Fassbender, Pierce Brosnan and Tom Burke. Altitude is opening Cannes title “Sister Midnight,” headlined by Indian star Radhika Apte, while Tull Stories is bowing “Oh My Goodness!,” where five nuns set their sights on winning the cash prize in a major cycling race to raise money to renovate a dilapidated hospice.
