Robert Irwin reveals I'm A Celebrity cast 'won't be told' about the Bondi Junction stabbing attack while in South Africa: 'It's too distressing'

Robert Irwin has revealed the very surprising decision made by I'm A Celebrity producers in light of last week's Bondi Junction massacre.

'Upon hearing of the devastating news here in South Africa, we immediately contacted each celebrity's family to confirm their safety,' began the presenter. 'We've decided not to inform the celebrities about what occurred in Sydney,' said Robert, adding, 'We felt the news would prove too distressing at a moment when our sole aim was to try to bring a little bit of joy to the campmates.' Thousands will gather on Bondi Beach this Sunday from 5.30pm to unite as a community and remember the victims at a candlelight vigil, where a minute's silence will be held.
