Robert Downey Jr. Says Pedro Pascal Becoming a Star ‘Reaffirms My Faith in Our Industry’; Downey Invited Pascal to ‘Homework Days’ During ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Filming
Robert Downey Jr. says Pedro Pascal becoming a movie star reaffirms his faith in the movie industry. The two are now filming "Avengers: Doomsday."
The two stars are set to face off against each other in the upcoming Marvel movie “ Avengers: Doomsday,” which has been filming this summer at Pinewood Studios in the U.K. ahead of a December 2026 release date. Downey is playing the villain Doctor Doom in the new “Avengers” movie, a dramatic heel turn from his Marvel tenure as Iron Man, while Pascal will be reprising his “Fantastic Four” character Reed Richards. “Pascal’s slow trajectory to becoming a household name who is on a wildly hot streak kind of reaffirms my faith in our industry,” Downey told Vanity Fair about his co-star and friend.
