On Sunday, Nov. 3, the actor, 81, crashed the tailgate ahead of the Eagles-Jaguars game at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia to lobby for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris. The NFL team shared one of the two photos with the caption, "Eagles tailgates remain elite," while the sports program made a reference to De Niro’s Eagles-loving character in the 2012 romantic comedy Silver Linings Playbook. According to The Hollywood Reporter, De Niro said he was "optimistic" that Harris and running mate Tim Walz will win the election, but encouraged people to not get complacent.
