Robbie Williams's Oscar victory dream shattered after song is disqualified for devastating reason

Robbie Williams' dream of winning an Oscar has been dashed after his song was disqualified following a shortlisting in the Best Original Song category

According to a letter sent out to voters in the music category, Robbie's track "incorporates material from an existing song that was not written for the film" and so it has been deemed ineligible for the Oscar, as reported by US site Variety. The biopic, set to hit cinemas on Boxing Day, delves into Stoke-born Robbie's life from childhood until 2003 – the year he broke records by playing three massive gigs at Knebworth, one more than Oasis.
