Rob McElhenney, Ridley Scott Associates Set Docuseries About New Doping-Friendly Sports Championship (EXCLUSIVE)
Rob McElhenney and RSA are set to make a docuseries about the Enhanced Games, the first sporting event in which doping is permitted.
More Better and RSA (the prodco behind Netflix’s “Robbie Wiliams” docuseries) have signed an exclusive access agreement with D’Souza, Angermayer and their team which will see the doc makers embed with the organizers, as well as acquiring unscripted rights to the games and accompanying materials. The series will examine the moral ambiguity that surrounds the endeavor including whether the competition is encouraging potentially harmful practices or simply a modern solution to the continuing problem of doping across the sporting industry, much in the same way some creatives are trying to adopt new technology rather than fight it. “More Better is honoured to partner with RSA to help tell the extraordinary story behind the Enhanced Games,” said McElhenney, who has starred in “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and “Welcome to Wrexham.” “From the moment we discovered this competition was in the works, we knew this deserved a deep exploration through a thoughtful docuseries lens.”
