Rob Lowe Says ‘St. Elmo’s Fire’ Sequel Is In “Very, Very Early Stages”

Rob Lowe says that talks about a potential St. Elmo's Fire sequel are very real.

Lowe noted that the Brats documentary “only added to the excitement around” a sequel to the coming-of-age film, which also starred Emilio Estevez, Andrew McCarthy, Demi Moore, Judd Nelson, Ally Sheedy, Andie MacDowell, and Mare Winningham. Schumacher and Carl Kurlander co-wrote St. Elmo’s Fire, which centers around a group of recent graduates from Washington, D.C.’s Georgetown University and how they adjusted to adulthood. The film explored how the term “Brat Pack,” coined by David Blum in a 1985 New York magazine article, affected each actor differently.
