Rob Lowe Reacts to Demi Moore's Recent Awards Recognition: 'Our Generation Is Getting Their Moment in the Sun'
Rob Lowe celebrates Demi Moore as she has received praise for her 'The Substance' role amid the current awards cycle in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE. The actress, who costarred with Lowe in 'St. Elmo's Fire' and 'About Last Night,' has so far scored a Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards win, plus nominations at the Academy Awards, the BAFTA Awards, the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Independent Spirit Awards.
They reunited a year later for the 1986 rom-com About Last Night, which starred Moore and Lowe as Debbie Sullivan and Danny Martin, two 20-somethings in Chicago who fall in love and must navigate the ups and downs of their first real relationship. In The Substance, Moore portrays Hollywood star Elisabeth Sparkle, who is fired from her long-running gig as the host of an aerobics television series on her 50th birthday. Elisabeth is then introduced to a black market drug known as The Substance, which essentially creates a younger version of herself (portrayed by Margaret Qualley).
