Rob Lowe is opening up about watching his longtime friend Robert Downey Jr . win his first Oscar on Sunday night.
Lowe, 59, and Downey Jr., 58, both met in a history class as sophomores in Santa Monica High School, and they've been friends ever since The 9-1-1: Lone Star actor hosted DirecTV Streaming With the Stars, an exclusive Oscar viewing party at Spago in Beverly Hills, where he spoke to Variety Lowe revealed that Downey Jr. winning was the 'highlight' of his evening, as he reminiscend on his longtime friendship with the actor Just minutes later, last year's Best Supporting Actor winner - Ke Huy Quan - announced that Downey had won, as he took to the stage. 'Emma (Thomas) made sure she surrounded me with one of the great cast and crews of all time, Emily (Blunt), Cillian (Murphy), Matt Damon, it was fantastic,' he said.
