Ringo Starr Smoked Weed with Bob Dylan His First Time

Ringo Starr spoke to Jimmy Kimmel about a rumor that the first time he smoked weed was with Bob Dylan — and confirmed it was true. Starr said they got so high they forgot they'd ordered room service.

On the Jan. 28 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the host asked Ringo Starr to clear up some rumors about him that have been spread online. “So this guy came wheeling in a couple of trolleys for the four of us.” Starr said everyone was thrilled and ate up since weed “makes you a little hungry.” Starr’s Beatles bandmate Paul McCartney also confirmed that the group smoked for the first time with Dylan, 83, in his 2021 book The Lyrics: 1956. Kimmel also had Starr confirm that he has never eaten a pizza because he’s “allergic to several items,” and that he learned to knit when he was in a hospital at age 13.
