When John Mulaney announced that he was doing a week of live talk show episodes from Los Angeles for the “Netflix Is a Joke” festival, I knew it would be must-see TV. Not only does Kind serve as the sidekick to Mulaney on “Everybody’s Live With John Mulaney” (which returned for a weekly, 12-episode run this spring), but his recent credits include stand-out appearances in “Mid-Century Modern,” and recurring roles in “ Only Murders in the Building ” and “Night Court.” He often pops up where you’re not expecting him, like on “Evil” and “Girls5Eva.” Kind was trained in improv at Second City, and is a student of the “yes, and” brand of comedy — which helps when tasked with playing along with Mulaney.
