Richard Hammond addresses ending The Grand Tour: 'We always wanted to land it under our own control'


Richard Hammond reveals why Jeremy Clarkson, James May and himself decided it was time to say goodbye to their epic TV series The Grand Tour

The intrepid trio follow in the wheel tracks of the original Paris-Dakar rally, which will see them begin in Mauritania, traversing minefields, ravines and rivers as they motor across the Sahara in cheap modified sports cars. Clarkson, Hammond and May travel to Mauritania for their penultimate episode of The Grand TourRichard famously suffered head injuries and was in a coma for two weeks after a 288mph crash in 2006. Filming The Grand Tour has taken the team all over the world, and Richard says he feels like a little bit of him lives forever in the far-flung places where they’ve carried out their outlandish stunts.
