Richard Gere has quipped about his lack of chemistry with Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, as he reflected on his role as Edward Lewis in the 1990 rom-com classic

The 75 year old heartthrob reminisced about his portrayal of suave tycoon Edward Lewis in the 1990 hit film, humorously commenting on how his role was "criminally underwritten". During a masterclass at the Venice Film Festival, he quipped: "I was playing a character that was almost criminally underwritten." The Hollywood legend also shared behind-the-scenes details about one of Pretty Woman's most memorable moments - the seductive piano scene.
