The Fulton County Medical Examiner confirmed his death to the Associated Press and Rolling Stone, among other news outlets. Initial reports indicated that the rapper died at his home, although the medical examiner later stated in a press statement that it had been notified of the death by Atlanta’s Grady Memorial Hospital. The popularity of “Type of Way” grew even wider when the song was adopted by the Michigan State football team as its anthem for the 2013 season.
