Retired NASCAR Driver Kurt Busch Speaks Out After DWI Arrest


Retired NASCAR racer Kurt Busch issued a statement of apology following his arrest for DWI and reckless driving

Busch was initially stopped by an Iredell County Sheriff’s Office deputy on the evening of Tuesday, August 13, after going nearly 20 mph over the speed limit in a 45-mph zone. In court documents obtained by the Iredell Free News, a deputy stated that the former NASCAR driver “had red glassy eyes” and “a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath.” His blood-alcohol content was listed as 0.17, per the outlet.
