Reneé Rapp Shares Her ‘Daddy Lessons’ With Beyoncé Cover in Paris

Renee Rapp performed Beyonce's "Daddy Lessons" in Paris.

The crowd instantly recognized the song’s acoustic guitar boogie, hollering and singing along as Rapp crooned the opening lyrics: “Came into this world Daddy’s little girl/And Daddy made a soldier out of me.” She swiveled her body to the rhythm and leaned into the mic for some of the tune’s most soulful notes. Last month, she sang the album’s title song on Saturday Night Live, as well as “Not My Fault” with Megan Thee Stallion. Robert Randolph, who played guitar on “16 Carriages,” recently told Rolling Stone about the session, which featured Raphael Saadiq on bass and drums.
