The actress, 55, who has played the titular character since 2001, shot footage for the fourth instalment in Keswick in the Lake District National Park last week.

In the last movie, Bridget Jones's Baby, she is seen attending the memorial of her other on-off love Daniel Cleaver, played by Hugh Grant, who is presumed dead after a plane crash. As well as her love affair with Rockstar, the lovable diarist will also explore a romantic connection with her son's PE teacher Mr Walker, played by Chiwetel Ejiofor, while also reviving her on-off relationship with Hugh Grant's Daniel. Fielding's Mad About The Boy novel had Bridget navigating life as a widow four years after Darcy's death, his return is a huge surprise, which film bosses were desperate to keep under wraps.
