Remy Ma Says Prison Was the Worst Experience of Her Life

In 2008, the rapper was sentenced to almost a decade in prison.

For rapper Remy Ma, nothing has shaken her more than the eight-year prison sentence she received in 2008 after being convicted of assault and criminal possession of a weapon surrounding the shooting of a former friend over an alleged $3000 in stolen money. During a recent appearance on Nick Cannon and Courtney Bee ’s online series, “We Playing Spades,” the Bronx native was asked what she’d change if given the chance. The “Conceited” emcee was released in 2014 after serving six years in prison.
