Reggie Bird reveals the devastating moment her son was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis
Reggie Bird has opened up about the devastating moment she learned that her son Lucas was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis (CF).
Appearing on the Two Doting Dads with Matty J and Ash podcast this week, Reggie said her first reaction to a possible diagnosis of CF was, 'sh** I hope its not that because I knew how bad it was.' 'The surgeon also asked if I had any falls or trauma and I said yes I had an old man on a big mobility scooter mow me down in Woolworths about a year and a half ago… So it’s most likely came from that,' she explained in the caption of a pre-surgery update. Reggie, who is legally blind, suffers from both retinitis pigmentosa, a rare degenerative eye disease that causes severe vision impairment, and stage two Usher Syndrome, which causes deafness and hearing loss.
