Though the UK native and 35-year film industry distribution/exhibition vet was in the role for two years, several execs at studios have reached out to tell us how upset they are about Turner’s departure. While at Regal, Turner launched the chain’s Monday Mystery Movie which features early screenings of studio releases for $5 per ticket across the circuit nationwide. Last July, Cinépolis executive Eduardo Acuna was appointed as the CEO of the newly incorporated parent company of the Regal Theaters owner following Cineworld’s Chapter 11 restructuring.
