Reese Witherspoon Reveals Co-Written Thriller With Harlan Coben In The Works


Reese Witherspoon and Harlan Coben are cowriting a thriller novel, which is set to publish in the fall of 2025.

Coben has written thirty-five novels, many of which have been adapted into television shows for Netflix, like Fool Me Once, The Stranger, Hold Tight, The Woods, Safe, The Innocent and Stay Close. Witherspoon’s production company Hello Sunshine has backed several recent book adaptations like Prime Video’s Daisy Jones and the Six from the best-selling book by Taylor Jenkins-Reid, Hulu and ABC Signature’s Tiny Beautiful Things based on Cheryl Strayed’s novel, Netflix’s From Scratch based on Tembi Locke’s memoir and Apple TV+’s The Last Thing He Told Me, which was renewed for a second season based on a new novel that author Laura Dave is writing. Several other Reese’s Book Club picks are in the adaptation process, such as YA selection Twelfth Knight by Alexene Farol Follmuth, Romantic Comedy by Curtis Sittenfield and Cesca Major’s Maybe Next Time, which was announced as a film adaptation before Witherspoon’s book club made it the selection of October 2023.
