Ray Winstone gets candid while recalling 'soul-destroying' experience filming MCU's Black Widow that he threatened to quit and have his role as villain Dreykov recast.

In recent years, the likes of Martin Scorsese, Ken Loach and Francis Ford Coppola were among a number of high-profile names to famously tell Empire magazine that Marvel movies are 'not cinema,' and compare the production to that of a 'theme park' for moviegoers. Along with Winstone and Johansson the stellar cast also included Florence Pugh, David Harbour, O-T Fagbenle, Olga Kurylenko, Rachel Weisz and the late William Hurt, who only just passed away in March 2022 at the age of 71. Winstone's acting resume also included roles in Quadrophenia (1979), Nil by Mouth (1997), The War Zone (1999), Sexy Beast (2000), Cold Mountain (2003), King Arthur (2004), Beowulf (2007), Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll (2010), Hugo (2011) and Snow White And The Huntsman (2012).
