Rapper Soulja Boy Found Liable in $4.25 Million Sexual Assault Lawsuit
A jury ordered rapper Soulja Boy to pay $4.25 million in compensatory and punitive damages in a sexual assault lawsuit filed by his former assistant
The New York Times and the New Yorker first published investigative pieces in 2017 that accused disgruntled movie producer Harvey Weinstein of decades of sexual assault and harassment. The jury, however, did not find Soulja Boy liable on Doe’s false imprisonment claims nor accusations of fostering a hostile work environment. Soulja Boy was named in a lawsuit in January 2021, with Doe claiming that the “Crank That” musician assaulted her and failed to pay her for her work as his assistant in 2019 and 2020.
