Randy Moss Confirms Cancer Diagnosis, Underwent Surgery to Remove Mass

Randy Moss confirmed that he was diagnosed with cancer days after his son, Thaddeus, denied reports of the NFL alum having liver cancer

“Y’all know that I’ve told y’all over the last couple of weeks about me battling something internally,” Moss, 47, said in a Friday, December 13, Instagram Live video. Moss underwent a “six-hour surgery” which included a Whipple procedure — an operation that removes the head of the pancreas, part of the small intestine, the gallbladder and the bile duct, per Mayo Clinic. The ESPN commentator, who is currently on a leave of absence amid his health struggle, plans on moving forward with chemotherapy and radiation but is feeling “good” for now.
