Ramoji Rao Dies: Indian Film Mogul Was 87
Prime minister-elect Modi called Rao a visionary who revolutionized media in India.
Rao, head of Ramoji Film City and ETV Network, died on Saturday June 8 following a short stay in hospital in Hyderabad. Indian media reports that Telangana government has decided to give the tireless businessman an official state funeral. Eight years ago, he received the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian honour for his contributions to journalism, literature and education.
