Ralph Fiennes Reveals ’28 Years Later’ Trilogy Plot Details: “Two Have Been Shot”
With a new trilogy in production, Ralph Fiennes gave a major update on '28 Years Later', a followup to Danny Boyle's '28 Days Later' (2002).
Ahead of the June 20, 2025 premiere of 28 Years Later, the 2x Oscar nominee revealed some new plot details and an update on the status of the new trilogy, kicking off with returning OG writer/director duo, Alex Garland and Danny Boyle. Fiennes explained of the plot, “Britain is 28 years into this terrible plague of infected people who are violent, rabid humans with a few pockets of uninfected communities. After starring in 28 Days Later(2002) and sitting out the 2007 sequel 28 Weeks Later, Cillian Murphy reprises his role in 28 Years Later as Jim, a former bicycle courier who previously woke from a coma to find the ‘Rage Virus’ has decimated London.
