Radiohead Unearth Thom Yorke’s Unseen 1995 Acoustic Gig to Mark ‘The Bends’ 30th Anniversary
Radiohead have unearthed a previously unseen video of a Thom Yorke acoustic performance from 1995 to mark the 30th anniversary of 'The Bends.'
In lieu of a reissue of their 1995 sophomore LP — one of Rolling Stone ‘s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time — Radiohead has instead been digging into their archives to celebrate the 30th anniversary, uploading photos and interviews from the era, as well as this 25-minute concert: The Horseshoe Tavern gig, recorded March 28th, 1995, finds Yorke solo opening the Nu Music Night with acoustic renditions of The Bends tracks like “(Nice Dream),” “High and Dry,” “Street Spirit (Fade Out),” and “Fake Plastic Trees” before closing out with “Thinking About You” from Radiohead’s debut Pablo Honey. However, there appears to be some Radiohead movement brewing in the background as Pitchfork reported Thursday that the band filed a new LLP recently, which has typically predated some sort of activity, whether it’s a tour, reissue, or new album.
