Rachel Morrison Signs With Range
A highly celebrated DP, Morrison served as cinematographer for both Ryan Coogler’s Fruitvale Station and Black Panther, where she became the first woman to have lensed a Marvel superhero film. Morrison’s feature directorial debut The Fire Inside from Amazon MGM Studios, is slated for wide theatrical release on December 25, 2024. Written by Oscar-winner Barry Jenkins and starring Ryan Destiny and Brian Tyree Henry, the film is based on the true story of Claressa “T-Rex” Shields, a boxer from Flint, Michigan who at 17 became the first American woman to win an Olympic gold medal in the sport, only to discover that not all dreams are created equal.
