Rachael confessed she and her husband often have “screaming matches” when angry with each other, which the author insists is actually good for their relationship, especially as she doesn’t “trust people that are too quiet.” Rachael told People in 2020 that a fire that broke out in their house that year had helped the couple grow closer as they had to work hand-in-hand to rebuild their home life. “My husband and I didn’t get married until very late in life, 37 and 38 years old,” the Rachael Ray’s Open House Cookbook author added.
