Quentin Tarantino Refuses to Watch Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune’ Movies Because ‘I Don’t Need to See That Story Again’: It’s One Remake After Another

Certainly few would argue with Tarantino’s point that Hollywood is overwhelmed with remakes and reboots, but many would also say he’s missing out on great works of art by not seeing Villeneuve’s “Dune.” The film earned a lot of high-profile admirers when it opened in theaters earlier this year, including Steven Spielberg. Obviously Wes Anderson, Peter Jackson, James Cameron, Christopher Nolan, Ridley Scott, Guillermo del Toro. Spielberg went on to tell Villeneuve that “you have made one of the most brilliant science-fiction films I’ve ever seen,” monumental praise coming from the director behind “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” and other sci-fi touchstones.
