Queen's Elizabeth's surprising hobby - 'There was fun behind the formality'
EXCLUSIVE: The late monarch had a fondness for photography throughout her long life, and some of these gorgeous snaps show just how much she loved life behind the lens, when she had the chance
The late Queen Elizabeth was rarely seen without a handbag on her arm, and tucked inside usually would be her favourite lipstick, some mints, a pair of reading glasses – and occasionally her much-loved camera. The home movies she shot spanned several generations and her footage featured in several documentaries – including the BBC’s Elizabeth: The Unseen Queen, which aired in May 2022 as part of her Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The Queen was also keen to share her love of photography with the rest of her family, and one memorable photo showed her teaching a very young Prince Charles how to take a picture of his sister Anne.
