Queen to Sell Music Catalog to Sony for More Than $1 Billion: Report

Queen will reportedly sell their music catalog to Sony Music for more than $1 billion.

You helped bring Queen fame and fortune and everything that goes with it for the past half a century, and now the champions are getting ready for a victory lap. The magazine reports that the only rights Sony will not retain are those of live performances, as guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor still tour under the band’s name. Distribution rights would eventually move from Universal to Sony within the next couple of years depending on the country where the music is sold.
