Donald Trump is well known for lavishing praise on Queen Elizabeth II, but a Craig Brown biography reveals the feeling was not mutual.
A new biography of the late British monarch, penned by Craig Brown, casts light on a private conversation Her Majesty had about Trump following one of the former U.S. president’s visits to the UK. “A few weeks after President Trump’s visit, for instance, she confided in one lunch guest that she found him ‘very rude’: she particularly disliked the way he couldn’t stop looking over her shoulder, as though in search of others more interesting,” the book said. He told Fox News in 2019 that the Queen had the time of her life in his company — and that their conversation was so intense, he was unaware of others in the room.
