Queen Camilla all smiles in first royal engagement since Charles' hospital stay


Queen Camilla has taken part in her first royal engagement since King Charles had his prostate surgery, spending time at Windsor Castle while the monarch recovers

Appearing in high spirits, Camilla, 76, hosted an event at Windsor castle on Tuesday 30 January, which welcomed authors, illustrators and binders who have been involved a new Miniature Library collection displayed alongside Queen Mary's Dolls' House. "These new books highlight the incredible richness of twenty-first century literary talent – and demonstrate how fortunate we are to have access to so many outstanding writers, whose work brings joy, comfort, laughter, companionship and hope to us all, opening our eyes to others' experiences and reminding us that we are not alone." On Monday, Buckingham Palace said in a statement: "The King was this afternoon discharged from hospital following planned medical treatment and has rescheduled forthcoming public engagements to allow for a period of private recuperation.
