This week in publishing news: UMPG signs Cat Stevens, Position buys Gesaffelstein's catalog and Kings of Leon sign with Reservoir.

Known for hits like “Father and Son,” “Wild World,” “The Wind” and “Morning Has Broken,” the singer-songwriter recorded music and publishing catalogs are now united under one roof for the first time at UMG. Warner Chappell Music has signed a global publishing deal with AntsLive, the viral London rapper behind the popular song “Number One Candidate.” Nominated for two MOBO Awards in 2024, including Best Newcomer and Best Video, the musician says he decided to join the WCM roster after attending the company’s songwriting camp in Las Vegas. Born in Cameroon and raised in East London, the multi-talented Mbi has worked with artists like Russell Maliphant, Boy Blue Entertainment, Robbie Williams, Corrine Bailey-Rae, Black Eyed Peas and choreographed the “Leave A Trace” music video for CHVRCHES.
