Princess Diana’s heartbreaking plea to father - 'if you loved me, you wouldn't leave me here'

Charles Spencer has revealed. Diana, then Lady Spencer, told her father Edward John Spencer, 'If you loved me, you wouldn't leave me here', h Earl Spencer, 59, shared during his appearance on Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg on BBC One.

Diana was sent to Riddlesworth Hall, in Norfolk, aged nine after her mother, Frances Roche, left her father John and began a relationship with wallpaper millionaire Peter Shand-Kydd. Though she wasn’t terribly happy at first, she later settled in school life there and became a popular pupil, amidst the obvious trauma of dealing with a family breakup. Diana left Riddlesworth Hall in 1973 and went to West Heath Girl's School in Kent the following year, where she joined older sisters Jane and Sarah.
