The Prince of Wales has seen many changes to his official title over the years and currently holds a style which links him to centuries of royal history and tradition. At the time, a charter ruled that every future Duke of Cornwall would be the eldest surviving son of the monarch, as well as the heir to the throne. During his long tenure as the previous Prince of Wales, King Charles worked with the Duchy of Cornwall for many years and created a number of important projects - including the Poundsbury and Nansledan Estates.
