Prince Returns to the Theatre for One Night With Dolby Cinemas Enhanced ‘Purple Rain’ Screenings
Prince's 'Purple Rain' movie will be released exclusively Dolby Cinemas for one night only on March 5 with enhanced visual and audio quality.
“Devoted and new fans alike prepare to be exhilarated by an unforgettable and unparalleled performance from one of music’s greatest of all time.” According to a release, Purple Rain was restored digitally from an 8K scan of the original 35mm camera negative and received color grading specifically for Dolby Vision. “We have to live up to the largeness of what he put down and make it feel just as alive and vibrant as it did then,” director Lileana Blain-Cruz told Rolling Stone last year.
