Prince Posthumously Inducted Into Songwriters Hall of Fame


Prince was posthumously inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame at a 40th anniversary screening of his film Purple Rain in Minneapolis.

A songwriter, producer, musician and pioneer of the Minneapolis Sound (which also included 2017 SHOF inductees Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis), Prince crossed genres with ease. Prince also wrote hits for other artists including Sheena Easton, Kenny Rogers, Madonna, Stevie Nicks, Patti LaBelle, Celine Dion, Kate Bush and the Bangles. Prince performs during the "Pepsi Halftime Show" at Super Bowl XLI between the Indianapolis Colts and the Chicago Bears on February 4, 2007 at Dolphin Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
