It is well-known that King Charles is a dedicated grandfather and spends as much time as possible with the youngest members of his family, despite his overwhelmingly busy schedule. While royal nicknames reportedly include everything from 'Cabbage' and 'Gary' to 'Tungsten' and 'Stavros', the most senior members of the Firm have also been given sweet pet names. In his final years, the King's relationship with his eldest son, Edward, Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII and Duke of Windsor) deteriorated as he was deeply offended by his son's lack of sense of duty and willingness to carry out affairs with married women.
