Prince Harry names the royal who first branded him a 'Spare'

Prince Harry opened up about his nickname 'spare' in his bestselling memoir, in which he explains the origins of the moniker - and which member of the royal family coined it

In a recently unearthed snippet from his book, Prince Harry delves into his relationship with his father, King Charles, disclosing that it was actually his dad who coined the nickname in response to Princess Diana giving birth to a second son. The paper stated: "Harry's resentment of being the 'spare' is the underlying theme of his book, through chapters on his childhood, his schooling, his career as a royal and in the British Army, his relationship with his parents and brother, and his life with Meghan through courtship, wedding and marriage, to their own experience of parenthood." A source claimed that Harry has "won" the debate with his wife over whether to include their young children in their upcoming Netflix shows - and so they won't feature.
