In his final address to the nation, five days before turning over the Oval Office to President-elect Donald Trump, President Joe Biden delivered a dire warning against the dangers of big tech and a social media landscape without a fact checking. “Today, an oligarchy is taking shape in America of extreme wealth, power, and influence that literally threatens our entire democracy, our basic rights and freedoms, and a fair shot for everyone to get ahead,” Biden said. He also called for an 18-year time limit for Supreme Court justices, which has remained a hot-button issue following the overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022.
