The footballer who joined Athens side Panathinaikos from Sheffield United this summer, was found at the bottom of his pool by his landlord who jumped over the fence to get into the home. We can confirm that a post-mortem examination has found that George tragically drowned whilst swimming in the pool at his home in Glyfada, Athens. Thursday night’s Nations League match between England and Greece at Wembley, saw a moment of silence for George, as players of both sides wore black armbands.
