Victoria’s influence as a force in fashion was rapidly gaining momentum, and in 2006 she even brought out her own book, That Extra Half Inch: Hair, Heels and Everything in Between – providing her fashion-conscious followers with top tips. She revelled in the process of researching for the book, admitting that since it was impossible for her to shop incognito, her sister Louise acted as “chief scout”, bringing her “armfuls of stuff” from all her favourite high street stores. In the 16 years since the launch of her label, Victoria’s designs have been worn by a galaxy of female stars – from the Princess of Wales and Jennifer Lopez to Kim Kardashian and Kate Winslet – and American Vogue editor Anna Wintour is a regular guest on the front row at her shows.
