Portion Of Santa Cruz Wharf, Featured In ‘The Lost Boys’ & Other Classic Films, Collapses Into The Ocean


150 feet of the structure drops into the Pacific as massive waves, measured at 15-20 feet nearby, pound the coast. Three people were on the wharf when it collapsed.

Footage shown on local and national TV news showed a tattered segment of the pier floating on the swell with at least one person walking across the debris. The adjacent Santa Cruz Boardwalk was the setting for that film’s carousel scene wherein Kiefer Sutherland and his vampire crew get into it with a security guard.
