Popular newsreader surprises fans as she makes the move to Channel Seven

Longtime ABC newsreader Karina Carvalho has announced her move to Channel Seven News.

Karina joins the network during a significant transition period under new national news boss Anthony De Ceglie. De Ceglie has been making notable changes including reducing the network's news departments and introducing a comedy segment in the Friday night bulletin and a daily horoscope report. Despite the move, the roles of current 7News presenters Peter Mitchell, Rebecca Maddern, and Mike Amor will remain unchanged.
