Taylor Swift referenced Patti Smith on one of her Tortured Poets Department songs and the poet thanked her for the mention with a sweet Instagram message.
Get back to the Patti Smith got a shout-out from Taylor Swift on the song “The Tortured Poets Department” and she is touched by the mention. “You’re not Dylan Thomas, I’m not Patti Smith, this ain’t the Chelsea Hotel, we’re modern idiots,” she said on the song, which is speculated to be about Matty Healy. “[It’s] an anthology of new works that reflect events, opinions and sentiments from a fleeting and fatalistic moment in time – one that was both sensational and sorrowful in equal measure,” she shared.
