On Sunday, April 20, the episode of The Equalizer season 5 that aired on CBS was reportedly supposed to serve as the backdoor pilot for the spinoff. In a clip from the April 20 episode posted on the show’s Instagram account, fans were torn about the spinoff idea to begin with. “It’s heartbreaking news, primarily because it’s been such an immense pleasure working with this cast and crew to put out a show that we’ve always been proud of,” S.W.A.T.
