ADRIAN THRILLS: A burst of lockdown creativity provided David Gilmour the sparks for Luck And Strange, which finally arrives today
Initially a platform for book readings by the guitarist's novelist wife Polly Samson, the weekly livestream developed into a looser project that included wine-soaked anecdotes and music, most of it by David and his youngest daughter Romany (pictured together) Elsewhere, The Piper's Call examines the Faustian pact some individuals strike with fame and hedonism ('the wheels are hot, the hangover outrageous'), while melodic ballad Sings returns to a theme that will be familiar to fans of Floyd's The Dark Side Of The Moon — mortality. To mark its 35th anniversary, Madonna's superb fourth album is this week being reissued on opaque silver vinyl (£29), the second chapter in an ongoing 'Silver Collection' series launched last year with a repackaging of 1986's True Blue.
